Summer Stuff

Okay, so on today’s list:
CANAAN
NEEDLESS
Fight! Ippatsu Juuden-chan

NEEDLESS 01
Yeah, this almost felt like a kiddy action show sorta thing if it weren’t for the blood and mass murder. Jokes were awfully dumb and the all the action scenes tried to give a GAINAX feel but they ended up falling flat and just felt more like a way to save budget or something. But then I’ll probably continue to watch it anyway because it hasn’t yet bored the fuck out of me! Plus: boobs.

CANAAN 01
Great production on just about every level – nothing less to be expected from PA Works, whose quality in works already has me comparing them with KyoAni’s stuff. Main thing that bothered me about the show was just how there was a lot of gunfire and killing going on in front of the people and being the festival-loving citizenry that they were, though it was all a freaking act. Good gravy, what the hell. And Type-moon being Type-moon, the main protagonist’s got magic eyes again – what a surprise. Mystic Eyes of Hostility Perception I suppose? Although this time, she uses a gun! That’s kinda cool. Definitely something to look out for.

Fight! Ippatsu Juuden-chan 01
I think this sums up my thoughts pretty well!

Doesn't seem like much good luck with the new season
icie | July 11, 2009Doesn’t seem like much good luck with the new season of things. One thing I have picked up after seeing two episodes is Aoihana. Hell yeah slice of life yuri.
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 is also looking pretty good (though it takes itself too seriously and we need to wait for the next episode for a proper look at how it’s gonna perform in terms of the main storyline “after the disaster”).
CANAAN 01 was a slick intro, although it's too early
Diego | July 12, 2009CANAAN 01 was a slick intro, although it’s too early for me to say whether we have another winner on our hands.
I didn’t touch Needless – and thanks to the information in this post, I never will.
Cheerio.
New watch... Canaan - Kewl. Flat chests anyone? Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-chan -
samejima | July 13, 2009New watch…
Canaan – Kewl. Flat chests anyone?
Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-chan – Encouraging to hit ladies using a baseball bat. Period.
Needless – Loli haz awfully big bewbs.
Princess Lover – More big bewbs.
Umi Monogatari – Hmmm…
Umineko no Naku Koroni – Kill kill kill
I disliked Needless a lot more than Juuden-chan, which could
nekosasu | July 20, 2009I disliked Needless a lot more than Juuden-chan, which could at least sport a funny plot. Needless was simply boring and too cliché for me. And Canaan, well… I am biased towards pettans. And the quality, of course.
icie, I just finished watching the first episode of Aoi
Zeroblade | July 21, 2009icie, I just finished watching the first episode of Aoi Hana – definitely awesomeness. It’s like they put together two of my favorite genres into a single show!
Diego, NEEDLESS does feel like a kids’ show right now, but I’ll be tracking it a little while to see how it all turns out. And CANAAN, like all Type-moon works, usually doesn’t necessarily have to make sense; it’s just really freakin’ cool on its own.
samejima, more or less, that’s what flashes through my mind at least once throughout the episodes!
nekosasu, Likewise, I don’t quite know if NEEDLESS is worth the time, but Juuden-chan may have some good stuff hidden underneath it all! Maybe.
